I’m not so sure about that, seen a few decent ones over the past few years, Tuskeegee F16, WW2 marked A10, Pre WW2 (Pea Shooter esque) F16, not to mention ANG/AFR F15’s and 16’s amongst others.

More the pre-1947-style national insignia, without red bars.
I’m a bit surprised by that. The USAF has never been one for commemorative schemes, let alone one that deviates from T.O.1-1.
