56 OTU

Hi guys,

Has anybody seen any photos of the aircraft of 56 OTU at Tealing and/or Kinnel? I tried the IWM and RAF Museum a few years ago but they were unable to come up with anything.

I know of the Kinnel shot in the Action Stations volume, but apart from that, nothing.

It doesn’t look like Tealing to me, the hangar is all wrong. Sutton Bridge? Lovely pic though.

There are several photos of 56OTU in the new Vol 4 of “2ndTAF” by Shores and Thomas.

I’ve got a picture of aircraft belonged to 56 OTU – Hurricane R4231, but have no idea if it was photographed at the airfield you mentioned. Maybe somebody can recognize hangars in the background.
