Some of you might know that the latest 6th generation NVIDIA graphics cards are out. All the rich Doom stooges atm are buying 6800 NVIDIA cards for £200-300. I bought a lower-spec 256MB 6600 for £95 connected via DVI to a 19″ Viewsonic monitor the other day and set about playing with FS2004. Switched anti-aliasing on and everything nr maximum. Given Microsoft’s traditional inefficient reliance on CPU and memory, I was surprised to see how vivid things were flying around Seattle.
Well worth the cash and breathes new life on an old product.

lol, it’ll probs only be for PCI-X & wont be out for quite a while… (although afew have already been made, but those a pro cards for people making movies like Toy Story or The Incredibles.)
& have u heard of the 512MB cards that can go in SLI = A 1GB Graphics card!!!

The 6600GT was an extra 30-40 smackers iirc. Tomshardware benchmarking seems to show this is better with anti-aliasing. Not worth the money in my book.
Can the bus though address that much video memory? 😉

True, the 6600GT is an absolutely FANTASTIC card! Well worth it.
512MB cards coming out soon as well!
