Hello,
I was wondering if a 600 Squadron expert could give me some guidance please? In the 13 Group ORB at the National Archive it states that on 13 March 1941 1,800 rounds were fired at an e/a of KG100 by a Blenheim – the aircraft lost height and crashed near Dunure, Ayrshire. After taken prisoner, the enemy personnel confirmed they shot down by MG fire from the Blenheim.
I have been told that the Blenheim was a 600 Sqdn aircraft but I understand that 600 Sqdn were flying Beaufighters by this date. Would anyone be able to clarify for me please? The e/a had been involved in the raid on Clydeside. Could it have been a Blenheim from another Squadron?
Many Thanks
OG
