Have just come across a very nice photo of a ‘KW’ coded Hurricane II, but individual letter and serial not visible.

Under the cockpit is painted what looks like “McConnell’s Squadron 5” and a Wing Co’s pennant behind cockpit.

The caption on the reverse says:

“Sector Commander’s Hurricane, Kenley, 1940 (sic)”

Black port wing. Sky spinner and band.

Any ideas?

@ wieesso – thanks for the additional two idents

@ Gerry – that’s great but not essential so don’t worry about it too much.

Now to concentrate on 46, 111, and 249 squadrons and the ever elusive 261 Hurricanes

– and 129 squadron Spitfires

Hi Ian,
I think I have a photograph taken at Northolt with KW-K in the background.
Unfortunately I won’t be able to check until I return home this evening.
If I do I will post it here for you.
