Despite having this film on DVD, I saw that it was on STV here in Scotland the other night, so I set the Sky+ planner for it. Watching it this morning, I was always curious about the airfield attack scene halfway through the film.
Did the film-makers crash a real Mosquito into that lorry, or was it a convincing miniature?? I know they bellied a couple of Mosquitoes and burnt one (or two) for crash scenes (since nobody really wanted them at the time!), but that crash has always stumped me.
Anyone??

Yeah, I kinda thought that was what they did!
I know they recycled the same footage for Mosquito Squadron – was it the same airframe or a different one they wrecked?

Hi Daz, the belly landing, u/c collapse, in the middle of the film and the one at the end are the same shot just from different angles.
