It is 65 years ago today that Poland was invaded by Germany, sparking of World War Two. We remember.
Are any ceremonies marking this momentous day, or the 3rd of September when war was declared by Britain, France, New Zealand, Australia and other nations, being held?
It hardly seems 15 years since the 50th Anniversary. That was marked well here in New Zealand but the 60th seemed to slip by unmarked.

Me I was about 23 I think 🙂 , I remember it well, Slaving away as a T/A at O.J.N. Nilsen Electrical Industrys building and wiring Huge NAB1 industrial circuit breakers, That fifteen years has gone quick 😮 , Don’t forget VP day boys, LEST WE FORGET, Cheers, Tally Ho! Phil 😉 (p.s. I was 17, and I lapped up the films like Battle of Britain and Piece of Cake, because I was just about to join the RNZAF.
I remember wishing that the Air Force would be a little like in the movies, and lo and behold whilst doing my basic trianing, Stephen Grey visited Woodbourne and displayed in Tim Wallis’s Spitfire – the first time I’d ever seen one in the air. So yes, I got my little wish. 😎

Blimey, I was but 9 at the time of the 50th! Remember doing a project about it in school, but not much.
