RIP to all those who made the ultimate sacrifice 72 years ago today….
My Grandfather flew twice on D-Day, first to St Pierre Du Pont in the early hours of the morning and then later that evening to a target in Argentan, ended up getting hit by AAA and had to make a emergency landing at RAF Woodbridge on return. Luckily he survived the war and is still with us at 93!
