Picked up (and couldn’t put down) ‘Boy in the Blitz’ by Colin Perry. He was 18 and working in an office in the City of London in 1940. He kept a journal of what he saw and felt of that traumatic time. From the roof of his home flat in Tooting he watched Croydon airport being bombed and sat on Reigate hill during the Eagle day battle. The journey to/from work by any means because the underground was stopped during raids. the lack of sleep. Excellant read.
