JAS worth SEK 20M may be scrapped
If 65-70 JAS cannot be exported they will be scrapped, as Swedish defence forces face more cuts. Swedish Air Force chief Håkan Syrén has said that Sweden “only needs 100 operational aircraft” of the 170 in service and 204 originally ordered. The Svenska Dagbladet newspaper says that the Swedish Air Force wants to dispose of aircraft worth SEK 20 billion as a result of political pressure to make reductions.

As someone whose (enormously high) taxes have helped to pay for these, I claim one and will donate it to Duxford!
