Factors such as light,obstructions,etc can contribute to the fact that Nick12 could not see the colours,if your passing by car its quite easy to tell the aircraft(as I have found)but not the airline.

Aye, it’ll have been bringing the fans for the Champions League game at St. James’ Park on Tuesday night, aganst Feyenoord (of Rotterdam).
Either that, or it was to bring all the CL banners/adverts that go all round the ground.
