I was at Troon today for a drive and lunch with a couple of friends. Troon is 3 miles from Prestwick Airport on the coast and the planes can be viewed well on take off over the bay.
I was amazed to observe this Air Scotland 757, doing touch and goes, especially when they pulled a turn at this angle !

I’ve done some 757 aerobatics in the sim! Unfortunately every time you go past 40 degrees bank the GPWS shouts ‘bank angle’ repeatedly at you which is a bit distracting.

Having watched a doc on Discovery Wings the other week showing the proto 707 in a barrell roll I assumed you could do the same in a 757. The actual turns were not a million miles away from the angle ahown in the “first pic” 😎

the top photo is on its side, you can see the clouds in the background are on their sides, so the aircraft must be too! and if you put it the correct way up, the turn is hardly anything. strange to see touch and go’s though, thats cool.
Doh ! ya got me, the spot the fake prize is in the post 😀
As for the touch and goes, you can see them a lot at Prestwick.

In fact the seafront was populated by old age pensioners during this particular display.

Good looking girls and Troon are not words often used in the same sentence. (lol) In fact the seafront was populated by old age pensioners during this particular display.

I’m certain it was Air Scotland / Air Holland’s PH-AHE which is under maintenance for a few weeks. An Air Holland 767 is currently in use on the Air Scotland contract.
