764 Naval Air Squadron

After an absence of over 30 years from Fleet Air Arm service, 764 NAS will soon be resurrected. This will not involve the squadron being commisioned, the title will go to the Initial Training group for Technical training of Air Engineering Technicians. The point of this thread is to gather information, anecdotes, and or photographs of this Squadron in all of its manifestations since inception in 1940 at Lee-on-the-Solent. Help needed swiftish as the date for startup is December 08. THX

Excellent news,

I am always looking for anything relating to 764 Squadron in it’s time at RNAS Ford in Sussex aka HMS Peregrine, I have some bits and bobs following research on my wifes uncle who was killed in 1955 flying a T22 Vampire there, from memory 764 weren’t there very long, I haven’t done much for a few years always wanted to find someone who knew him S/Lt Bryan Carter.
