777 Family Reaches 1000 Sales Milestone

As was expected to happen this year , About 12 years into service it has reached the 1000 mark making it one of the quickest (if not the quickest) widebody to reach that milestone. The 1000 aircraft order came from TAM and as of now 1003 777’s of all versions have been sold . Its one of the most comfortable aircrafts to fly in , a great long range aircraft offering superior economics and is a stunner to look at .

777 is surely one of Boeing’s best Jet. I love it!

Will they ever go for a 777NG using some 787 technologies.

Not in the Pure sence . It would be nearly imposibe to add the eff. required for the 777 to compete with the larger 787 varients and the 350 , boeing might decide to make improvments and tweak certain aspects and make it a few % more effeceint to keep its existing customers happy but beyond that i dont see it getting a 748 type overhall as it is pretty advanced as it is and getting it to the 350-1000 level would be no short an effort then doing a brand new airframe so not worth the economics. The T7 will sell now because it is one of the most advanced aircrafts currently in service , and the larger 350 wont EIS till perhaps 2014-2015 if not later so the 777 has a lot of life left . This year despite of strong 787 and 350 sales the 777 is over the 100 mark and the way things look it could well be a top 1 or 2 years interms of sales for the program as a whole . The F version is also looking pretty smart going into the future , so the 777 has a lot of life left in her and we can expect strong sales for the next 5-6 years with deliveries running well into the next decade and maybe beyond.

Great plane the 777, I take it from that illustration that the original 773 is no longer on offer ?
