80 Spitfires?

As it is the the 80th Anniversary of the First flight of the legend that is the Supermarine Spitfire, I wondered if it would be possible to find 80 different images of Spitfires or more?
Artworks or actual photographs.

Even if no one’s up for this, here is my artwork I sketched today entitled: ‘Mitchell’s Masterpiece’

Prototype K5054 looked upon by the man himself. In homage to the man himself and his marvelous creation:

Not nearly as spectacular as some in this thread but here are a few of my Spitfire photos as seen at Chino over the years.

And here is one that pays tribute to the Spitfire but really isn’t.

It would be great to see photos of the Canadian built Anson MK5 in Cuban markings (CU-N370) parked beside CF-GMZ. Googled it without success!

🙂 If you start a thread asking you make get your wish but you will just get Spitfires in this thread 🙂

Hi All,
Surely one of the oddest here a screen grab from the film Robot Overlords….:D

N3200 on the turf at Old Warden. One of my favourite airshow sights from the last year or two.

Great picture of probably my joint favourite Spit (joint with MH434). I was so glad that they gave her the invasion stripes back, she looked a little dull without them. 🙂

Probably the first photo I ever took of a Spitfire – TE311 at RIAT Fairford, 1993.

Now that is a thing of beauty: please don’t paint it!

Apart from the wing roundels…!

As well as having added a few “non standard features”

This was the only racer retaining all it’s standard features.

A quick glance at the leading edge and upper surface of the wings shows that it is missing a number of ‘standard features’.

Well, here is my tribute to K5054 being prepped for flight. After 6 years of work I missed the date by a month, meant to fly it on the 6th of March. Will be April now…
The pitot mast and tube are genuine, so I guess it counts for this thread!
