80 years since the start of WWII this year

I am guessing this early in 1939 the threat had really yet to come to light but obviously Hitler had been in power a while but did not see Great Britain as an issue a big year again for the RAF with the build up and obviously te sending of aircraft in early 1940 to France

Belgium was neutral until invaded. Our plan was to advance into Belgium when/if they were attacked.

I believe we were already building the radar installations and coastline defences at this point, but as you say, the threat was yet to come to light. I think maybe at this point, the RAF sent aircraft to Belgium? Forgive me, my history is shaky.

Yep, and therefore, the 80th Anniversary next year of the big one – the Battle of Britain.
