Nothing special in 86 I admit, but BSG junior mentioned it to Mrs BSG when we came home from seeing Indiana Jones, so, its late and I’m bored and broadband is actually stable so here they are (most of them)

The 86th is the 1/72 A-7 – I give up trying to arrange them (WW2 Europe etc) I always run out of space.
maybe I should stick to smaller scale…..

Personally, I prefer to build plastic kits myself, but – that’s a pretty impressive collection!
I HAVE succumbed to buying the odd die-cast (I can actually display them downstairs without fear of them getting damaged when the little ba – I mean “darlings” – come to visit). Even so, I’ll need some stronger shelves before long! 😀

At long-last the diecasts are slowly getting to a decent standard, like the Hobbymaster Harvard, or the Corgi Swordfish & Lysanders.
I’m selective……..so 86 IS a big-deal, to me !!!!!!!!!!!
Won’t be long, before you crack the 100 barrier lol
I need to be more selective – I have a few I’m not too chuffed with (Typhoon with no rockets…. thats like Pizza without beer….) so try to check them out visually before I buy – WWW images don’t always tell a story. I go through phases with what I want as well – still, at the end of the day – I like ’em.
Am updating my will (am only 42… but hey….) wonder what to put about these… plus my books – ah well, if they go to a jumble sale I’ll come back and haunt the buyer:diablo:

I can understand Pagen’s sentiments, though he ain’t 100% right….!!!!!!!!
Only so many aftermarket-decal schemes ya can buy………
Can’t imagine everyone’s got the skill/time/patience to replicate “nose-artwork” that ISN’T available in an after-market sheet, even if ya can ‘cobble-together’ Sqdn-codes & serials of the right colour & size.
I’ve got (well) over £ 1,000 of aftermarket decal-sheets accquired over a 12-15 year spell (mostly Microscale/Superscale/Aeromaster/Cutting Edge et-al) & there are still individual a/c that I’d hanker after, but I don’t have the individualistic-artwork that sets ’em apart, nor the paitience !!!!!!!!!
Still ‘some’ B.17’s that will remain a dream, even if I’ve got the numbers & codes in 1/48th.
As time’s gone by, certain Die-casts have caught-up rapidly with some of the IPMS (kits) stuff being put out at shows…….
& lazy-gits like me find it ALL TOO EASY to crack-open a box with an a/c that has a superb basic finish like “BSG’s” A-7 (that he’s talking about) with the “Fist of the Fleet” markings.
Engraved panel lines & EXCELLENT finish that ANY self-respecting modeller would be pleased with (in 1/72nd).
Yeah, ok, it’s £ 31 to £ 39 dependant on who ya buy from….but it’s good !
VERY GOOD !!!!!!!!!!
God-knows I’ve seen enough ‘ropey’ (built) kits put out on IPMS display-tables over the years (& mates who are IPMS ‘judges’ agree !).

could never quite master it, plus once left a black outline of a 1/32 Lysander wing shape on a carpet with some spraying that got out of control! – and with a quick check, I’ve paid 50% or less for about a quarter of these and I sell a few on from time to time – time to rotate the collection though as I’m running out of space:eek:

that I do…
You have a very understanding Mrs!
still drives me insane though, this is a woman who when “Jaws” was on TV chips in with “why don’t they just swim away?”…… still, she Ok’d these, plus the cupboards and even paid for a 1/32 Tomcat ! Can’t be bad (and don’t mention the football season ticket I just signed a cheque for…..)
