Hi all,
I was having a discussion the other night about the events of 9/11. I found myself quite annoyed at some of the things that were being said by people around me. Basically, one of them was trotting out some of the so-called facts from that book published a while ago in France which cast doubts on the attacks of 9/11.
However, I lacked the technical and factual background to contribute anything to the chat, other than I remain highly suspicious to say the least about the claims made in that book.
I have therefore decided to post here to pick the forum members’ brains.
My first question regards that book, “La terrible imposture” or something along those lines. I read in the Independent a while back that the bloke who wrote it had not even bothered to go to the USA to research his book (probably a good idea mind you as he migt have ended up in the harbour with a concrete overcoat) and that he actually found his info on the Internet. Does anybody know more about this?
My second question reagrds one of the claims in the book, namely that there was no plane debri found at the scene. I remember there was a topic about this some time ago, but I cannot remember all the points raised. Can anybody tell me more about this, in particular anything which countradicts this claim?
Finally, the question was raised of how could two large planes enter Manhattan airspace and another fly into the Pentagon without being shdowed and intercepted. I must admit I did not know what to answer, other than the possibility that the readiness was not as high then as it was today and that by the time fighters had been scrambled, it was already too late. But I do not know enough about this to be certain and once again, I am sure that there are plenty of forum regulars who could give me more info.
Many thanks in advance to anyone who can help clear up some facts.
