Hello….
My Gt Uncle, JOHN EDWARD PROSSER, was shot down over France in Oct 1918, and was a 2nd Lieutenant in the 98th squadron.Does anyone else have any interest or contact in this area.I am researching my Family History, and this is one area where I need more information etc.I particularly need to find out if he had a war medal for his duties…anyone help me, please.

Is this the RAF – referring to a squadron as the 98th squadron is not the usual nomenclature. Maybe it was in October 1918, just not these days…
98 Squadron was using DH9’s at the time, based at Blangermont until it moved to Abscon 27/10/1918; I presume these are/were in Northern France since the squadron took part in a counter offensive which eventually reached Belgium before the Armistice.
A little research on Google shows that you probably know this already…
