A-10s to be given standoff upgrades, to be in service until 2018

From last week’s issue of Flight International- I was in a hurry so only had time to skim the article, but they’ll be giving the A-10 new engines, and the capability to fire standoff weapons, and an airframe to last until 2018.

Great! As promising as those X-45 UCAVs sound, the US still needs a great CAS plane like the A-10.
