An e-quaintance of mine flew with the USAF’s 13th Bomb Squadron in Korea during 1951/52 (he also later flew B-57s in Vietnam). He has recently sent me a Seedy Ron full of interesting and historic pix showing their A-26s at Iwakuni Air Base. Thought the forum may care to have a look at a few. If you like these there’s more, including some nose-art pictures. Also included here are a couple of “foreigners”, RAAF and FAA<?>.
Pix are . . .
1 – 13th Bomb Sqn Flight Line
2 – Versitile Lady
3 – Moonshine
4 – 7th Chadwick
5 – RAAF P-51s
6 – Sea Furies
(The annotations on the bottom of the photos are the names of the guys who took the pictures.)

Today’s offerings, a bunch of nose art. Not sure if our younger readers should see this stuff, so don’t look at the pictures for to long, OK?
Pics are . . .
1 – Brown Nose
2 – Maiden USA
3 – Oscar (went on to become the “Grim Reapers” logo)
4 – 5th Chadwick
6 – Empty Saddle
7 – Reddy & Willing
8 – TOC SAN
9 – Effects of a low-level cable strike. No idea how the prop got away with it though.

There was a very similar photo of “The 7th Chadwick” in Flypast(?) recently. But now we know what happened to the 6th!
What an astonishing set of pictures – thank you for sharing them with us!

Lovelly stuff, keep ’em coming Les. 🙂 Martin, thanks for your info on the roundals. The airworthy Meteor at Temora in Oz is painted up as a Korean War example and has the ‘meatball’ roundals now I come to think of it (like ‘616’ above).

the pic of RAAF Mustangs got me wondering-when did the RAAF adopt the Kangaroo emblem for the centre of the roundal? I’d thought it had already been adopted by the time of Korea.
Ant
in Korea, No. 77 Sqdn flew with this form of roundel, both on the P-51’s and later Meteors.
