A beautiful Mosquito door saved.

Good morning all,

Look at this beautiful Mosquito Door;

A friend of mine found it in France and it comes from the Mosquito NFXIII HK399 from 256th squadron (See http://francecrashes39-45.net/page_fiche_av.php?id=3623 )

Now, we are looking for the family of the navigator of this Mosquito: Rex Frederick Cottrell (from NZ) .

He was killed during the crash and my friend would like to give this door to the navigator’s family.

could some of you help us trace this family ?

We know that he was the son of Albert George et Ella Mary Cottrell, from Rotorua, in Auckland and we were able to gather some data on his family (see last attachment).

Thanks in advance.

It’s most likely that, if this door was jettisoned and found nearby after the crash, that it was Rex Cottrell who pulled that lever.

A poignant item indeed.

Hello, Just found this thread looking for something else. Did you get anywhere with your attempts to contact the family? If not, have some info that might help. Regards Howard
