A big one for the USAF Museum

A few days ago, the first parts of the XC-99 transporter have been flown (by C5) to the USAF Museum in Dayton, Ohio. Since 1959, the machine, slowly fallen apart, has been on outdoor storage/view at Kelly AFB in Texas. After an inmense face lift (how many years this will take I don’t know), it will be displayed at the museum. The pic shows it at Kelly last week (USAF Photo) BW Roger

This certainly looks like a mighty machine – as you point out – in need of a rather major facelift! Does anyone have a pic of this aeroplane in flight?
