A brace of Antonovs…today.

After a fine lunch I was snoozing gently during a very pleasant little tour of Grenada this afternoon. I awoke to find the tour bus was travelling down what was clearly an old runway. So rapid sideways glances, as you do in these situations, and low …a couple of wrecks came in to view.
The disused airfield was called ‘Pearls’ and the aircraft gifts from the Russians and Cubans to one Maurice Bishop leader of the People’s Revolutionary Government. He was ousted and hanged in 1983 and the Antonovs have been there ever since.

I am sure the knowledgeable in these things will be able to tell us the serials or registrations.

Mark.

An-26 CU-T1254.
I’m sure the An-2 was also Cuban. Someone will come up with an ID. I know it was in an early 1980s worldwide wrecks&relics book…
