A classic corporate ***k up

Sorry about the following rant but this makes my blood boil.

Well then that’s it folks just take the Met’s advice, don’t turn up and lets just all forget about it then…hey what the heck it’s only a chunk of metal !
“They said “there are only very limited viewing facilities on the north side of the airport and the general public should not expect to be accommodated by turning up on the day.”
So who exactly paid for Concord, BAA and who still pay’s for Scotland Yard ???????????? THE BRITISH TAXPAYER, THAT’S WHO !! you cheeky self important b*stards and don’t you forget it !!
If we want to congregate in a particular area of our country at a particular time then we bloody well will. Look up the definition of freedom boys, it isn’t the preserve of our cousins across the water !

I’m so glad (I deliberately leave this in lower case, out of pure, utter and total contempt) company chairman lord marshall has his seat firmly secured.
This is the same lord marshall that, when a BA 747 was impounded at Kuwait International and the crew held hostage and paraded for the World’s media by Saddam just before Desert Storm, who made sure he was present for the news cameras for their dramatic homecoming.
He was seen on the evening news shaking the hand of the visibly drawn 747 Captain as he finally stepped on to home soil.
Do you know what he actually said into his ear as he warmly slapped the poor chap on the back, bearing in mind that the Jumbo had been totally destroyed by a combination of Ak47’s, T72’s (and probably A10’s) during the conflict. The chap had lost his Aircraft and his crew, who undoubtedly he felt completely responsible for, had been at the point of murder for days on end.

I do as I have a friend who was a Purser on BA747’s at the time, it wasn’t “Well done son and welcome home” it was “What at have you done with my ‘effing x millon £ aeroplane”.

Just about sums it all up really.

Below is from the BBC Website.

Police warn over Concorde flight

Concorde ‘s last flight will be on 24 October
Police have told people wanting to see Concorde’s last flight later this month to stay away from Heathrow airport.
Enthusiastic supporters of Concorde are expected to gather to watch Captain Mike Bannister land the aircraft for the last time on a commercial flight on 24 October.

But Scotland Yard and BAA – the company that runs Heathrow – say the west London airport is not big enough to handle the extra people during a school holiday period.

They said “there are only very limited viewing facilities on the north side of the airport and the general public should not expect to be accommodated by turning up on the day.”

There will be no special parking facilities and the spectators’ viewing area remains closed on Department for Transport advice, as will the car park roofs.

The event will be televised live in the UK, and the plane will be watched by huge numbers of people in London and the South East as it makes its final descent.

Special invitations

British Airways (BA) has sent special invitations to people across the world to be on the final flight from New York to London on 24 October.

Company chairman Lord Marshall will be on the final flight, but the airline said it was still waiting for replies to the invitations before finalising the passenger list.

BA is considering a plan to keep one of its seven Concordes flying for air shows and flypasts, and is expected to reach a decision soon.

The company is also considering flying a Concorde to the United States on 17 December to mark the 100th anniversary of the Wright brothers’ first manned and powered flight.

A fall in passenger numbers and high maintenance costs have been blamed for the decision by BA and Air France to retire Concorde.

Scotland Yard can take a long walk off a short pier! and that goes for the BA lot and Lord Numpty F**kwit!!

This country has gone to the dogs and it depresses me so much!

Muppets at Westminster and Brussels telling us what to do !

anywho!!!!

I’m off to Heathrow on Friday and i’d encourage everyone to do so.

If BA were that switched on they would have announced a “Concorde Display Flight” then people wouldn’t have been so desperate to go to Heathrow

The whole thing stinks!!!! 😡 😡

You will be pleased to know than someone in authority dosn’t think the Great British Public will take any notice of the Met police.
The motorway information signs on the M25 and M20 are warning of delays in the LHR area on Friday….

You are quite welcome (and entitled ) to your little rant and I agree with you all the way. I also have a suspicion that the reason they won’t sell one to Sir Richard Branson is they’re scared that he’ll prove that it can be flown profitably
