Hi All,
Myself and LBARULES had a trip over the Pennines today to MAN. We ended up being rained off (predictably), but it was one of my more productive poor weather days!

Ever seen Concorde with a red nose? Here’s ‘Alpha Charlie’ sporting one!

Thanks for looking, and thanks, Tom for driving mate!

Those are some really nice shots considering the available light.
They look really sharp at 1024 wide too.

Great collection of shots. I loved the LH 737 and the BMI A332.

Good shots mate, nice and crisp for the wx cdx.
I was up at MAN southside yesterday, what another gloomy day! Even the rozzers stopped of and took our names which was nice!

I know its Helvetic but I was guessing it was flying for Swiss
It may have been, I don’t know. It says Helvetic down the side of it so that makes it Helvetic to me, not a Swiss! 🙂

It’s a Helvetic F100, and a silhouetted BA Embraer. 🙂
Thanks again guys!

wow paul, you really made good use of that poor weather!
reall like the silouette shot at the end. great stuff!
where abouts were you for the shots of the 747 coming in over the lights? (the B+W one).
me and the adams need to get our selves down to man soon (possibly May i hear?:D), it really is a great airport.
Sam
Cheers, Sam! The 747 shot was taken on Ringway Road right under the approach to 24R. It’s very similar to the approach to 27R at LHR and is just a short-ish walk from the Airport pub, although you can park nearby. Unfortunately none of the shots when the aircraft was directly above me were of any real use, so I did what I could with that one. Has to be said though, the experience of having a 747 sail that low over your head is so overwhelming I’m not surprised I didn’t get a good shot!

Fantastic work as ever mate, thanks for a most enjoyable day! Really is fabulous having a car to drive round in at MAN!
Sam_Mc, it was taken right under the approach lights on Ringway Road. If your ever around MAN, providing i’m free, your always welcome for lifts around all the spots at MAN!

“why does it always rain on me?” 😀
Bad weather follows yee!
Great photos though. Like the framing on the 747 approach shot, very original 🙂
