Can anyone shed a bit of light on these two visitors – apologies for:-
a) quality – they are both cropped big time from the originals
b) the fact that one is an eggbeater 😮

[QUOTE=Willow].
Septic, many thanks for the Nord3400 photo. Very nice. Quite a rarity in UK skies, I believe.
I believe there was one based in the UK, but in may now be out of CoA.
Take a look at this site.
Only three operational in Europe!

Royal Marines 3BAS (or RN 847 NAS) at Yeovilton still have a few Gazzas on strength at Yeovilton. It was always nice to see and hear them overhead.

The Gazelle IS a demobbed one. It’s civil registration is G-BZYD. It was previously XZ329 with the AAC.
I didn’t realise any Army AH1s had been sold off but clearly they have.

P.S. I believe the Beaver currently flies as PH-DHC and is ex US Army 55-4585 in addition to being ex S-9 with the Dutch.

Not all the ex-Royal Navy Gazelles are in civilian schemes Mike, there are still a few that show off their tail-end Shark 🙂
Some ex-RAF ones may also wear their military uniform.
You may be right about the operational line though, have any Army ones been demobbed?

Septic is correct. The Beaver is also operated by the Dutch Royal Airforce Historic Flight and is often used as the Spitfire’s support ship. Shame they had to park her that far away though as I would agree that it would have fitted in quite well with the rest of the flightline (perhaps next to the Connie would have been a proper place??).
Website: http://www.skhv.nl (Dutch language only I’m afraid) 😮

that Beaver is excellent and would have been quite a “special” on the flightline. Not exactly a warbird, but approaching “vintage” status surely?

The same applies to this very pretty Nord 3400.

The Gaz could be one of many, there’s quite a few on the civilian circuit now.

I think the Beaver is the support ship for the Dutch Spitfire.
