The Speedtwin was invented and built by Peter Phillips. Now sadly no longer with us, he was a long term Tiger Club display pilot, solo BA4B display pilot (G-AWPZ) in the 70s and IIRC, was also the Britten Norman Demo pilot 70s and 80s.
I think it’s based down in Kent with a couple of chaps who intend to promote & market it again. Bill Blair-Hickman (Hawker Hunter Aviation – Scampton and long term Hunter Display pilot) also flies it.

As to Speedtwin i believe it was a new build and think it had something to do with the team behind Thrust ssc,Richard Noble
It was new build and the designer had nothing to do with the Thust SSC. IIRC, he was a private individual (forget his name now) ex-RAF and an inventor. It was intended to market it as a kit, but the designer died from cancer before these plans came to fruition. It was tested extensively by Pliot Magzine.

Duxfordhawk- yes she’s still current on the resgister, I’ve just checked her on G-INFO. Was the Speedtwin a conversion of something or a new build?
Geoff.
