How was the radio triggered on a wartime Mustang? I’m presuming there was some sort of switch the pilot could activate?
Also, how did the pilot release the canopy in the event of being shot down/crashing??
Such things are not too clear to me! 😀

I’m helping a guy out with research/story ideas for a novel he’s doing about Mustangs – I had hoped some Spitfire principles would be similar! 😀
On the Sea Fury control column that Bruce sold me, the “push-to-talk” button is on top, so I figured it might be similar on the Mustang.

on the throttle grip on the port side of the cockpit, there was a button to press for activating the mike
the canopy release handle (lighter color) was on the starboard side of the cockpit
