A couple of write offs?. Where n when??

The 1st set of pictures were scans handed to me recently. Taken at Stockwood nr Inkberrow in the 1960`s. Why did this Dove get to where it is?.
Looks as though it went through something solid to loose its wing tips and also the nose leg seems to still be attatched

The Dove pictures are from a mate who was doing some work at someones house etc. He got chatting about local history and then these were produced and printed off on the chaps home pc printer. Ive in turn taken pictures as i dont have a scanner hence the crap quality sorry.. I will chase my mate up with the new info and try n get him to get some better pics in return (bribe) for the crash info 😉

Thanks Chaps

G-AJLW was originally the Series 2 prototype. Whilst en-route from Yeovil to Hucknall on 26 April 1965 it flew through a sleet shower and the port engine failed. The Dove had a woesome single engine performance and it made a wheels-up forced landed in a field near Pershore. It was subsequently written off.

Interesting pics. Are these the highest resolution or do you know the whereabouts of the originals?

G-BHAD was repaired following this incident, 1st October 1988 close to Sleap.

Dove 2B G-AJLW – the prototype srs 2, first flight May/June 1947, conv to srs 2B 1951. C/no.04033

Force landed with flaps and u/c retracted after port engine lost power in sleet shower whilst en route Yeovil to Hucknall 26th April 1965. Struck wire fence and hedge, 8 miles west of Droitwich and DBR.

Not, bad, even if I say so myself, thirty-five minutes to find the question and research the reply. I assume the different versions of the Dove accident location all add up to the same place!

This second lot is a Spam Can from Sleap airfield i think. I was taken to it in the late 1980`s or 90`s where i took these pics but for the life of me cant remember where about other than it being in Shropshire.

In the one picture looking between the tail and cabin you can just make out the route it took whilst ploughing through the cabbage field.
