And was shattered my grandmother used to say when all his beloved plane’s were turned in to pot and pan’s 🙁 .
Did they do this at the same place they built them  , As I have seen a few product’s around made after the War, Had to give them some thing to do I guess  .

Please feel free to add more if you have any pic’s please Lady’s and Gent’s
And comment’s Too 😉 .

Will the Duxford Beaufighter have the bulge on the nose like Mk 21’s? I think the cockpit is from a 21, not sure though. Also, anyone know when the nose will be put on the fuselage, and when the first flight is expected?

Moorabbin Beaufighter A8-328
As JDK points out above the Moorabbin DAP mark 21 Beaufighter A8-328 did engine runs until moved to indoor display, and the limitation of dual engine runs was due to the servicability of the second prop.
It is now displayed as A8-39.
The Museum website has external and internal still photos, and an online 3-D tour of the cockpit
I understand the Fighter Collection project referred to by Steve is based on A19-144 which is a Bristol built mark XI but contains some Australian Built DAP Mark 21 parts as well, I understand the remains of A19-148 also a Bristol built mark XI are held in store by the RAAF Museum at Point Cook, along with additional mark 21 parts, similarly acquired from Rob Greinharts excess spares.
I understand the Camden airframe (also a DAP mark 21) is relatively complete but contains Bristol Freighter engines?
regards
Mark Pilkington

TFC Beaufighter, A19-144
Some photos of The Fighter Collection’s Beaufighter A19-144, taken today.
This is the first time I’ve seen anything happening on a) the outer wings, and b) the control surfaces. It looks a lot more advanced than it did when I last saw it six months ago. Well done lads. 🙂

Indeed, Dave, but I’m talking about projects I’ve seen, have metal being cut and engines under work etc, rather than ideas and proposals, or those I’ve not seen!

Cheers JDK.
Don’t forget the Blenheim For Blenheim project that DaveM2 says has begun at Omaka, to buy a Bolingbroke and restore it to fly at Omaka

Dave,
That’s the one (Camden) in Spiteful’s pics. Yes, the museum is still there. Moorabbin’s ran one engine, but I believe there were issues with corosion on the other engine’s blades. It was (rightly) brought under cover as soon as they could and it looks very good now.
God willing, legislation permitting and a lot more hard work, the plan is for two Blenheim/Bollingbrokes to fly, a Beaufort and a Beaufighter within the next ten years. Many things can go wrong, of course, but these are all real projects underway at the moment.
(ARC – Blenheim Duxford Ltd; The Canadian Warplane Heritage; the Queeensland Beaufort project and TFC’s Beaufighter project in the hands of Pete Rushen. Give them your support.)
Cheers

This page is scanned from the booklet called “Famous Museums of the World – The Camden Museum of Aviation, NSW, Australia” which was Book 1 from Historian Publishers, 1972.
Is this museum still going today? If so, do they still have this very complete looking Beaufighter?

None flying at the moment, but there are two restorations to airworthiness in the UK; one with The Fighter Collection at Duxford (wears the identity A19-144, but also incorporates substantial parts from A19-148, both of which were originally UK-built Mk VI’s), and Skysport Engineering’s 1F X7688 (G-DINT) although this one is currently stored.
I believe there’s also a restoration to airworthiness in Oz, part of Rob Greinert’s collection I think.
TFC’s is the one most likely to reach completion, although a) it’s a very big job presenting various engineering challenges, and b) with the way legislation from the EU and CAA is going these days I do wonder about whether large historic twins will still be allowed to fly by the time she’s done…

Is there any chance that there will be a beautiful Beaufighter ever flying again ?
(don’t mean the Blenheim/Bolingbroke model, mean the genuine article)
Cheers
