A few from Stansted

I was in quite a serious car crash the other night, and (very luckily) escaped unhurt. Since then it has been playing on my mind a lot, and so I thought that this afternoon I would go and do something to take my mind off things. Naturally, the idea of going to photo somes planes was at the top of my list, and so I took a ride down there to see what there was. We had a few things in, of which you can see here…

Sorry about the blur on the Aurigny..

Good catches, Andrew.
Thomsonfly’s G-FDZB took me to/from Greece in 2007 so it’s always nice to see it in pics.

Thanks all! It’s impossible not to love those Titan colours!

Great looking 757 there, who does that belong to? 😀

It’s Mid East Jet. Quite pleased with that shot actually, because the aircraft came in very high and I was a bit concerned it would look a bit under the belly

The Hawker has an ADF sense antenna?! Now there is something I’ve never seen on a jet before. I can only imagine the parasite drag at cruise with that thing hanging out there.

Nice pictures, those airlines might be boring to some but they are Stansteds bread & butter.
I have spotted here since the mid seventies & on a day to day basis it has always seemed a bit boring, Air UK seemed boring at the time. IMO the best time was just before the new terminal opened when there were a lot of transatlantic charters, operated by the likes of: Lion Air, Rich Intl. Arrow Air, Odyssey Intl. Wardair, Transcontinental & Ports of Call. When I look back through my photo albums there are a surprising number of interesting planes, many visiting ATEL & its successors

Thanks for the comments. If you have flown on an FR or EZY plane, let me know. Chances are I have taken a photo of it at some point, but just haven’t put it on the forum cos there are so many others like it.

Well since you asked, G-IGOJ, G-IGOH and G-EZJA. 😉

Pity there isnt many proper airlines to photograph at Stansted. Bring back the Air UK Fokker F27s and Bae 146s and the Shorts 360s, also UKLeisures 737-400s. I hate Ryanair!!

Well if you could tell me where in the UK i can photograph those ones you mentioned, then I’d be happy to do so for you. But as far as my history tells me, they died out a long while ago. If I had waited til later in the evening, I would have got the likes of CSA and Malev. ‘Proper’ enough for you?

What blur? Don’t worry, I wish I could make some pictures like that with my €500 camera! What a disgrace, I should have bought Canon
