Thanks LAHARVE, they’re great. Bring back a few memories, and reminds us how much the place actually changes!
Cheers

I believe it is yes… Last known still broken down awaiting re-assembly. Was pictured on a thread on here a while ago…
This photo of Kermit’s Lizzie was taken last September @ Lakeland Florida.
I’m sure it would have been airtested by now, the engine appeared to have been recently run as there was quite a bad oil or hydraulic leak.

Indeed, the CWH Lizzie will be ready when it is ready. However, it has been going together at a good rate. The last year has seen painting, the wings, tail, engine and prop all being hung on the fuselage.
It’ll look great & different as a bumblebee – yes; TT yellow & black stripes and absolutely appropriate to the a/c.
Cheers

I get regularly updated photos of the CWH Lysander almost every week from a friend up in Canada, and the Lysander is making good progress…I would have to guess it might fly later this summer, but don’t quote me on that.

Stampe,
I thought the Sabena guys were planning a static restoration after their accident. Is that your understanding, or is it to airworthy?Cheers
I could speak to some guys of the Sabena Old Timers During the 2003 stampe Fly-inn. They told me that they intended to repair OO-SOT to airworthy condition. They had bought a second Lysander in canada for parts. This second Lysander was also intended to be restored to static condition for the museum in Brussels. As I understand, it was a long term project. The funds they should have from restoring the static aircraft for the museum, would be used to bring their Lysander back in the air. But that may take some years.
The team still owns a project of a Lockheed Lodestar which is currently stored in belgium.
Greets,
Stieglitz

A shame, Mr Weeks seems to have his fingers in so many pies that some airframes fall by the wayside for a time. However, at least we have people like him that are prepared to build such a collection of aircraft for future generations to enjoy. Lets hope he gets her back up in the air as soon as is possible. The lysander has a certain ‘vibe’ i can’t explain. I love to see it displayed, it’s a lot faster than i ever imagined and sounds gorgeous!

Of the three airworthy ones… Shuttleworth still have theirs as you say, one went to Mr. Weeks out in the US and the Belgian one got a wee bit bent and is awaiting(?) repair
Yes, Sabena Oldtimers are still aiming to start their repairs on OO-SOT. They had a stand on the Stampe Fly-inn at Antwerp last weekend. They are busy selling various things to gain funds for this job.

Thanks for the update Arm Waver. The example that is now with Kermit Weeks, would this have been previously owned by ARC? And possibly the one i saw at Old Hay?

Can someone tell me what happened to the population of lizzies from the 90’s. The only one flying today is the Shuttleworth example, right?
When i attended Old Hay in ’96 a lysander was present, but i can’t remember which one. It put on a most spirited display though, wonderful against the backdrop of a kentish farm in summer bloom.

Hmmm.
On that day, I was very excited to get a close look at a Lysander. Barry Foxwell took this pic of me trying to climb in. (Yes, I had permission…)
