I just figured out the digital camera, and here are a few photos I took after the Airliners convention. Some landing shots:

I hope so. It’s not confirmed yet, but I fear that their 747-200s will be a in charter like situation, where you have no leg room and more seats abreast than you’re meant to have.
These aircraft were flying from Phuket and Bangkok domestically only a few weeks ago, now they are suddenly ready to make 12 hours trips.
Does anyone know where I can learn more about that, other than on their website?
Their website says they have 38″ seat pitch in economy! If that turns out to be true, might be quite good! 😉

Phuket Air’s 747 was parked up in the Arizona desert in March when I saw it – I hope its been given a bit of a spruce up before you fly on it! :p

Really nice shots GD1 🙂
T5 – Look forward to hearing your opinions on Phuket, you never know you might be pleasently surprised!

LAX is the biz – always!!! EI use EI-DAA on most of their LAX flights – its the only one they have with seat back video, so its not a bad flight. And as Ren says, clearing US immigration in DUB is awesome as it saves a huge amount of time standing in lines in the US. Only time I flew EI to the US was several years ago – DUB-JFK on 747-130 EI-BED which was in all-economy config with something like 450 seats, but still one of the best trans-Atlantics I’ve ever done.

Yeah I got EI-DAA on the way out, very nice indeed. EI-EWR coming back, not so nice but still a great flight with an ace cabin service. (hic) 😉

Very nice shots Greekdude, as already mentioned it’s nice to see shots from LAX on here. Really like the Tahiti livery 😀

So when’s the LAX meet then ?
Can you handle 11 hours by Airbus though ? (lol) 😀
I’m up for it if someone else is!
Better start saving up those pennies! 😀

Ah well Phuket then !!!
LOL! Pure class 😀
I can’t get EI’s website working just now. 🙁
I’m trying to check EDI-DUB-CDG-DUB-EDI, it fails just before it shows the price, I can chose the flights though.
Excellent pics, I see that US have started putting the star alliance logo on the planes.

Rgarding flights to LAX: I was looking in March and got a roundtrip for December with DL from LGW (via ATL and returning via DFW & ATL) for £325 each (although we only paid £100 each as we had $400 in vouchers from getting voluntarily bumped the april before). The price for the same dates now is £675 each so I’m glad we booked it when we did.
Back on topic, great shots Greekdude. I can’t wait to go to LAX for the first time on Boxing day.

Just checked Aer Lingus for LHR-DUB-LAX-DUB-LHR fares and am blown away by their prices (in a good way)
£327.00 (inclusive of all taxes).
Told you they were good didn’t I ? You also have the convenience of clearing US customs in Dublin, saving you a loooooooooooooooooooong wait at LAX. Something GLA is thinking of having too. So when’s the LAX meet then ?

it cost an extra £300 per person to go with Thai. I’m now ashamed to have the Thai logo as my avatar – what an absolute rip-off!
Ah well Phuket then !!!

I’ve got Thailand again next Spring (March/April time), but I’m not looking forward to it as much as I did this year and last.
Flights are now from Gatwick with Phuket Airlines on a 747-200. For some random reason, it cost an extra £300 per person to go with Thai. I’m now ashamed to have the Thai logo as my avatar – what an absolute rip-off!

I was looking for cheap flights to Los Angeles a couple of weeks ago. I would love to go for a few days, have a look around city and to see what the airport offers.
But at more than £600 return for the cheapest ticket, it’s completely out of my price range!
I got a return from GLA-LAX for £360 inc taxes a couple of years ago with Aer Lingus via DUB. I was searching for ages and figured that the best prices were out of the peak summer period. I also realised that booking roughly 2 months ahead seemed to reap the best prices as well.
I booked in April and travelled in June.
I’m still thinking about going next spring or summer for a week’s snapping and sunning. Great place to be is California. 😀

Nice shots – what camera are you using?

I’m not jealous at all compared to my local, lol. Nice pictures, do Aeroflot do Russia-LAX direct with the 767, and is that ex G-OOAM?
LAX is on the list to visit in the future 🙂
Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for sharing greek.
My family flew from LAX-CDG on this TN flight.
Their feedback was excellent.

Great to see sunny LAX on here. I’m glad you got the camera to work George, was going to suggest you nip to a camera store and buy a memory card reader-USB lead. Handy when your computer refuses to talk to the camera.
