Spent some rewarding hours on Beachy Head this afternoon, enjoying the hi-jinx of the Eastbourne Airbourne show.
Highlight of the day was a breathtakingly close fly-by by the Hawker Hunter, Miss Demeanour, and some wonderful opportunities to take some photos from above the aircraft. At her closest, Miss Demeanour was too large to photograph with my 70mm lens. That’s close! And loud.
Two very unusual aircraft which were present were the Dassault Flamants who have apparently not been to the UK before.
Here are a few shots – I’m still going through my memory card!

It was all down to the flying skills of Jonathon Whaley – he flew a lot closer to the cliff than anyone else, not once but twice that afternoon and gave us all a real treat!
Here’s Miss D on her run-up on the first pass.

Annoyingly I’d filled my camera’s buffer with run-up shots so only got one decent image as she passed right by. Better luck next time I guess….

Excellent Hunter Shot. Would have to go back a long way to remember a better pose. Very well done.

Very nice. Would have loved to have seen Miss D that close!
