My first mistake was to believe the weather forecast, 11C and sunshine, Oh yes ? So I set off on this small adventure, stopped off at a motel in Lincoln for the night, awoke this morning, threw open the curtains to see …. nothing !
But believing that it can only get better proceeded to my first point of call ‘Humberside International’ where I intended to spend the day ! Not too much happening, drove around the place, not much too see at all ? So below a diorama of my day !!
Mods …. I hope it is ok to post such an eclectic mix of airframes within one post as it is a tale of three cities ??
Keith 😉
So Humberside and G-JXLI (G-INFO shows a varied history for that reg?)
A surprise on a Sunday PH-EZE.
Another surprise was SP-ENB landing into the gloom.
And when it came out, in some sun, to fly, so did most of the local birds !! umph !!
That was all I saw of the sun at Humberside ! So I thought head inland, may get better ? Off I went to Robin Hood country, last time I was here it was called RAF Finningley(sp) and there was a supurb flypast (1977ish) for the Queen. What an unfriendly place this seems to be ? all of the roads have double yellow lines and every lamp post has signs saying ‘no parking. no stopping. no photography’ Well my camera doesn’t have a red line across the front … so I am ok ??
A few ‘through the fence shots’
N550LD maybe wrong ?.
N80364.
F-GUF….. who knows ?
N53GX.
G-JETA.
That was all from Doncaster, without risking the authorities hand on my shoulder, so off I went toward home, but could not pass Gamston without a quick look ! Not much doing …. but Rosie was sitting there, at a distance, waiting to be photographed ??
This is ‘Rosie’ ! what is Rosie ??

JXLI is a mock up. I think it may contain some original parts though.

Great pictures. Enter Air seem to have been doing lots of the Santa flights this year. One of their aircraft has been operating (and parked) up at LBA.

Nice pictures !
I fail to see what anyone could do to stop you taking photographs, as long as you were on public land.
Maybe a hangover from the RAF days ?
I would guess the parking restrictions were brought in due to interest when the Vulcan is active ?
People do tend park in silly places at times.

Looks very much like the weather we have had for the past two months or so. Nice result considering the conditions.
Rosie is a Bonsall DB.1, and is supposed to be a P-51 Mustang replica. I suppose if you squint your eyes real hard you can make out some Mustang features. Anyway, its registration is G-BDWM.
