dark light

A French rarity!

Sorry, I’m getting more abstruse by the day! Does anyone have a photograph or information about the SFCA Lignel 46? I think that it was in the UK at some time in the 1950s participating in air racing. As far as I am aware there was only one – F-BCZJ – about which the DGAC website is not very informative. Not one of the major search engines can throw up anything about this aeroplane. Can anyone on the forum?

Trust the internet – now and then 🙂

F-BCFS was the registration of a SNCAN STAMPE SV 4C c/n 291.

Trust the internet-huh
F-BCZJ and F-BCFS

info from a friend who did time in it

Are you sure? Wieesso may be right. The DGAC website records F-BCFS as a Stampe SV-4C which was scrapped in 1950. It has no record of the registration being reissued to the second Lignel 46. I have also checked all the permutations on the registration letters and none of those is a Lignel 46.

Thank you John Aeroclub, Wieesso and Rochford. You’ve added to my knowledge! Wieesso’s asumption was very kind but, unfortunately, incorrect! Rochford, what was the registration of the second Lignel 46 and what is the source of your information regarding its tailplane and landing difficulties?
