A good Christmas read – Heads up!

Tuesday’s War. David Fiddimore. Pan paperback

It was recommended to me by Lofty, so I bought a copy.

It gets off to a really shaky start, with a damaged and returning Lancaster being baulked on approach to Manston by a factory-fresh version on delivery.

(Manston was three runways wide so baulking not an issue and what was a delivery Lancaster from Castle Bromwich to Bourn doing at Manston in the middle of the night anyway?)

But it then gets much better.

Not a rival for Bomber or Piece of Cake or Under an English Heaven. But well worth a read when full of Crissy pud and there’s nothing but ‘reality’ and soaps on the haunted fishtank.

I agree with your comment. Tuesday’s War was a good read. My wife bought it for me and I finished it about 3 weeks ago, eagerly awaiting thesecond and third books as it is intended to be the first book of a trilogy. Can’t imagine they’d have got aways with some of their escapades though. Oh! so you have one of those new fangled one eyed monsters as well then? Don’t you find they inhibit decent conversation?
