A hetic day in a long air war 8th TFW Wolfpack over Vietnam

Here see some great footage showing in colour, the scenes showing the USAF 8th TFW Wolfpack who flew from THailand in 1967.

MIG KILLERS – WOLFPACK

I am lucky to have had personal contact with many many F-4 crews from the 8th TFW who flew in the Vietnam War. As well as the 432nd TFW.
It is a privilege to have known such humble, detailed and smart people. It is up to each generation to ensure their work is never forgotten.

Vietnam film footage

Really nice stuff. All the better for being unedited and as it happened. Pity there is no sound but nice nontheless.

It’s from different occasions as Robin Olds is seen with a large moustache, a small moustache and no moustache. It shows him post-Operation Bolo, when they downed seven MiGs in that op. Other shots are a (famous) group shot of the Ubon MiG Killers, namely, Gullick, Lafever, Pascoe, Hirsch, Wells, Rasberry and Olds again.

Evocative stuff and on a par with similar stuff from WW2. It makes you realise how old the Phantom is as this stuff dates back to 1967 when it was in its heyday.
