Just read it, and must have missed it before(had the book’s atleast 10/15 year’s)Doh 😮
Alternative engine’s, were proposed from time to time for the Hurricane, but only one such project is believed to have reached construction.
A Yugoslav Hurricane fitted with a Daimler-Benz DB 601A in 1941 😎 .
That’s all I know!!!!
Now over to you Lady’s and Gent’s. 😉
A Hurra with a D.B, now I would be very interested in a picture and some performance data on her  .
What’s my chance’s on THAT!!! 😮

The Hurricane got a DB-601, the Spitfire a DB-605….. interesting that the more powerful engine didn’t increase the Spitfire’s performance…..

Interesting that the Hurricane performed better than the standard version, the same couldn’t be said about the Spitfire that underwent a similar conversion but with a DB 605A-1 in 1943. The only area that it was found to be superior was in rate of climb and operational ceiling, but this was attributed to the fact that it didn’t have it’s armament installed.

Thank’s so very much again Martin.
Sound’s like it performed very well, better than their standard model Hurra’s, and the 109 in a climb.
Look’s a bit weird though in the line drawing, I wonder if any picture’s actually survived,
Thank’s again Martin, your a champ!!
