A little indulgence…..

I ask a little indulgence here among the Shuttleworth photo threads as for the very first time I believe I managed to get some decent airshow photographs and I would like to share them.

I’m just posting the one for now but will post a few more later (as thumbnails.)

I’d just like to echo other’s sentiments about the quality and content of last night’s display. The setting, the atmosphere, the aircraft, the flying, the weather and the light. If Shuttleworth could bottle all of the above they would make an absolute fortune.

Regards,

Kev35 (who is now totally enchanted with Old Warden.)

Hairyplane.

No, we haven’t met. The Magister is an aeroplane that I have really taken a liking to. It seems perfect when displayed in the setting of Old Warden, it just seems so photogenic. I will be delighted to take up your offer and hope to see you at the next evening show. If you would like copies of any of my photo’s please just pm me and I would be more than happy to send some on to you.

Thanks again for the kind comments.

Hello!

Hi Kev 35, I’m not sure if we have met.

Nice images.

I am flattered that you use my Magister in your signature. If it is a machine that really blows your frock up then please come and find me at one of the displays and I’ll let you crawl all over it and photograph it to your hearts content.

All the best

I can only tell it as I saw it.

Let’s just say the difference was that it was subdued, and leave Kev to get on with his thread.

😀

Not subdued just different. Each pilot has a distinctive style.

If the Chief Pilot had flown like that I would have said it was subdued.

His style is less low fast passes more slow control in view of the crowd.

I’ll take that as a ‘yes’ then 😉

The Spifire was being flown by George Ellis. His style is less low fast passes more slow control in view of the crowd.

Over the season its actually quite nice to see the Spitfire and Hurricane displayed by different pilots with their own style.

Another selection. I thought the trio flying tied together were magnificent.

You are not alone.

It was quite blustery with the wind across the display line and for these three dissimilar types to stay connected for the entire display from take off to the final burst was superb pilotage. Certainly the best flying of the night from where I was sat.

Anybody else think that the Spitfire display was a bit subdued by comparison with some we’ve seen over the years?

Superb photos Kev. The first shot has some great lighting, and the pic of the 3 planes tied together is very interesting – never seen this sort of thing done before. 😎

Hi all

Iv’e spoken to people – lots of rich people – Australian people – and we are buying OW and having it shipped to Australia – We can run it better and cheaper down here and the workmanship will be first class but not as good as the UK naturally.

Nice photo Kev.

I’d totally agree about Old Warden. I was introduced to my first airshow there about 5 years ago by Robbo and I’ve become a definite regular now.

Just fantastic
