A Misty Manchester Morn (4/11/07)

The diversion season is upon us! Well, we had a couple of Wizz Air A320s divert in from Liverpool, anyway.

Here are a few non-diversions, taken after the hazy sun had burnt through the mist:

Must get the old peepers tested Grey Area, I could swear it looked shorter than a -300ER…..

Thanks again. 😉

I’m not sure if anyone else was there at MAN today (hardly the weather for it was it), but I was there to pick up my parents inbound from Heathrow on BMI, and caught a brief glimpse of what I believe was an Emirates 777-200LR from the T1 short stay car park. Can anyone else confirm whether it was there today? I just curse the fact I didn’t have a camera on me.

It was certainly GE-90 powered, and didn’t seem long enough for a -300ER, and I’m pretty sure EK’s 777-200ER’s are all Rolls Royce Trent powered…….)

I’ve checked, and both of today’s Emirates flights were operated by -300ERs.

‘EBF did the lunchtime flight, while ‘EBH arrived in the early evening.

Anyway, I’m off the point and rambling by now.

Top shots mate. 😉

Unless Lance particularly wants to photograph some Flybe DHC8s, bmibaby 737s and Lufthansa 146s, then the only “interest” diversion photos may be of Wizzair and Cityjet given that most long-haul aircraft seem to make it to their destination airport……

I’m far too long in the tooth to get excited over diversions in this day and age – I can remember “proper” diversions, after all.

I think you’ll find it was Adam who was generating the youthful enthusiasm, and not I. 😎

I’m looking forward to this ‘diversion season’ – should yield some interesting ‘results’!

Note also the fog descended at MAN around 5.30pm but lifted in time for some of the above airlines and types to come in within the last hour or so!

Nice work, mate! 🙂

Really cool shots Lance. I’m looking forward to this ‘diversion season’ – should yield some interesting ‘results’! I wonder why the PIA was over by the cargo centre? Was the terminal pretty full?
