… been looking at into buying a new Guitar but seems a bit of hassle, and pricey.
Anyone into playing Guitar or thinking about purchasing any ones in particular?… I might need a boost. My sweetheart keeps rolling her eyes at the thought of me getting another one. lol

Sorry to hear of your recent bout of ill health – I recently heard of an ex colleague who passed away suddenly. He was younger than me and it was a bit of a shock. Likewise, colleagues retiring then curling their toes up six months later sort of makes the old adage of “carpe diem” very true.
Go for it I’d say – recent ill health in my family and illness of my father in law, prompted the question “Is there anything you really want to do?” from my wife. My response a flight in a Mustang (only as Spitfire flights are a bit thin on the ground) didn’t fall on the stony ground as expected – she gave me the green light.
You can’t take it with you so look out Florida!!!! 😉
As for that guitar? My brother builds custom instruments and I have nagged him for some time for a nice mandolin – unfortunately the Chinese make decent geetars etc these days for next to nothing and they actually sound half decent.
Go with your dreams – I sure as hell am going to chase a couple of mine!!!

Well, I’ve just turned 54, and 2 years ago suffered a stroke, and if anything brings into focus the fact that life is short, its an event such as that. I lost a lot of my vision, but compared to some, I consider that I got off lightly.
Anyhow, back to topic. Although I shall never be able to ride it, I am contemplating finding, and restoring a 1977 Yamaha RD125 motorcycle. I rode bikes well into my 20s, and did not learn to drive until I was 24 yrs old. But I’ve always had a soft spot for the RD125, over the RD250, and RD400 that I owned. The 125 era was a very good time for me, lotsa happy times associated with it
Maybe it IS a symptom of the so called ‘male menopause’ looking back and re living our youth, I don’t know, but strangely enough, this idea only occurred to me very recently, but I feel I really want to do this. Of course tracking down a 1977 RD125, that’s not a total pile of trash, looks as though it’s going to be the hard bit.

I have always hankered after a Tiger Cub, but have realised it may be too late in life to get one and restore and use.Makes me realise just how much of my life I have wasted, doing needless other, less important things.

Those aluminium instruments, seem to be the same as those 4 girls in the group named “Bond” use, (Pause whilst wiping the sweat off my browe, god, you should see them:D), a particular piece they play is called “Victory” also seen playing with Andre Riew, no, not per sey.
Google them, watch them play, then go to bed tonight and try NOT to think of them:diablo:

Lincoln7, that is true, very true. I just turned 31 over a week ago so I suppose I could make it a late birthday gift to myself, sounds canny. 😀 I got a custom made 8 string Ibanez from Japan (or seen the early beginnings of it there and got shipped here I should say) last year (very, very and extremely lucky to get it with a lot of help from someone I work with that has strong links with Ibanez) and it kinda changed my mind not to get anything which is difficult to justify…
… However, this one I’m after is very different. Its a Standard Series One Baritone built by Electrical Guitar Company in the US, the whole thing is solid Aluminium, body, neck, head, the lot. Nice but strange looking thing, only major downside I’ve never even seen one in person let alone played one so its a bit of a gamble, however I’ve been told they’re fantastic especially if you’re into drop tunings and the most evil sounds. After a bit of thinking about the price, it ain’t that bad especially considering what its made of and it being made to order… unlike most Gibsons which are way over priced in general.
The sweetheart loves the look of it though…
Scott Marlee, a lot of these Argos ones ain’t bad at all especially if you just like to sit down and mess away with it. They’re great fun to upgrade with different pickups & what have you. 🙂

ive got a starfire (fender knock off) sold as a kit from like argos and such,
i was going to attempt it myself but i need to get a soldering iron etc lol

Yeah, Its nice to just sit down with an Acoustic & just pluck away. No fart ar$eing about with pedals, leads, amp heads and upsetting next door.
Very easy fix, just a matter of simply taking the old one out and replacing it with a new one, a bit of soldering here and there. You could do it yourself if you know what to do, save yourself quite a few quid & all. What kind of Guitar is it? 🙂
The price is steep but for what it is, or made of I should say, and with it being made to order, maybe its not all that bad. *Thinking*

i quite fancy an electro acoustic, my main musical interest is rock/metal, but i like to chill out to some good acoustic stuff, boyce avenue for example, i broke my electric guitar and keep meaning to get it fixed, just havnt got round to it, its as simple a fix as a new volume pot lol
if you really fancy one, and can afford it, id say go for it 🙂
