A pic from down under!

It’s about time we had more pics from this part of the world grace the board, they are not hard to find but anyway, here’s one!

RE: A pic from down under!

All in good time guys, I want to re introduce this part of ther world to the board. I feel that we’ve been left out in the heat (as opposed to the cold, cause it’s bloody hot down here) for far too long!

Look out for my next pic!

By the way, QF still have a small number of 747SP’s, but they are retiring them soon (if not already).

RE: A pic from down under!

Qantas 747-400’s are otherwise known as ‘LongReach’ class aircraft in their fleet. Their first one was delivered around 1989, and I’m sure the airctaft used on that delivery flight set some kind of distance record (not too sure on that one though). I know the A340 stole the record a few years later, but I believe the 747 took it back again.

All QF 747-400’s are powered by RR RB211-524 powerplants. Smashing aircraft if you ask me.

RE: A pic from down under!

Yeah, I thought so to.

it’s an optical illusion from the angle, looks like the upper deck stretches to well over the wing, and the top of the fin isn’t quite visible, which makes it feasible that’s it’s a tall, SP, fin.

RE: A pic from down under!

It looks abit ought. It’s a -400 series but judging by the lenght it’s more a SP. But nice pickture though.
