well
this was the FW-44J model – the export/license version of the FW-44D – the “High Back” mod seems to be a later addition / conversion, though….

Thanks a lot Martin! I am still amazed by that highback configuration. Any idea why they where built that way and was this a seperate type/model of the fw44!
Nice pics!

I will take out the Swiss AF FW-44 photos I have (an interned Luftwaffe kite, that was put into Swiss AF service and later was a glider-tug).

Hi
as for the Swiss Bückers:
A stands for “Ausbildung” = Training, i.e. Basic Training, Advanced Training, Aerobatics
U stands for “Umschulung” = Conversion Training, but also used for Advanced Training and Aerobatics
you may have noted the “RV” letters on the Bücker’s tails……
this stands for “Rückenvrille” = Inverted Spin; aircraft equipped with special carebuttors to the engines that allowed inverted manouvers were marked with the “RV”, i.e. these aircraft were cleared for this form of aerobatics.
and Stieglitz
here’s a Swedish beauty for you:

Question for SwissMustang.
Swiss Bucker were either seriallesd A-numeral or U-numeral.
Why?
If you take a closer look, you will notice that the A code is for the Jungmann’s and the U code for the Jungmeister’s. Maybe we should think in the lines of primary and advanced biplane training?
Swiss Mustangs,
That Stieglitz looks awsome!!! That is the first pic I see of a ‘highback’ Stieglitz (Shame on me!!! 😮 ) Was this variation only in use with the aiforce of argentina?
Also nice to see the SV4b of the former Belgian Air Force SV4 display team.
Franck 66,
I knew you enjoyed your ride in the Stieglitz and its great to see you have such nice pics to remember it! Also Nice Bucker pics as always! 🙂
If someone else has Bucker or Stieglitz pics, please post them! I love Biplanes!
Thanks guys.

We simply can’t get enough of it! I doubt that I got as many pics of Buckers, compared to you. But I couldn’t resist to add these two.
Thanks for all the nice Bucker pics F3Hadlow! 😉
