A Proper Aeroplane

The advantage with moving house is that you get to find all sorts of stuff. These pics are a bit old, but still good.

Nine cylinders? Pah!

Cas, I presume you’re referring to a pair of Mercury’s? Tut, tut, if you REALLY want to have the ultimate British radial twin, I think you need a bigger pair of Bristols mate. Try a pair of 14 cylinder Hercs, as bolted on to one of these… 😉

Proper aeroplanes have Avon engines and were designed by Hawker. Best known as THE HUNTER.

Great pictures Yak 11 Fan. I think it is a pity the Yak 11’s don’t get more airshow bookings as they deserve to.
Wouldn’t it be great to see a couple in formation with the Lavochkin at Legends?

It is an accepted fact in this household that all proper aeroplanes were built or designed at Hatfield.
