Just wanted to know if LH B744s are fixed with PTVs?
By: greekdude1 - 18th April 2003 at 04:46
No Monster, you’re not wrong, Kabir was talking about economy, just like I was talking about economy, just like we’ve been talking about economy this whole thread, with the exception of one person! Jay, we’re all aware that Lufthansa’s business class cabin has PTV’s, just like I’m sure every major airline in the world has PTV’s in the business class cabin of their 3-class International fleet.

if you read the 2nd post on this thread Jay you will see that i said.
only in first and business class.
i think Kabir is askin about economy class. Kabir correct me if i am wrong.

Not sure who you called at LH Kabir, but I had a PTV in business class on a LH744, this was 5 days ago.
By: KabirT - 17th April 2003 at 09:25
Yea i contacted LH and they confirmed no PTVs on there B744s.
By: greekdude1 - 17th April 2003 at 01:37
Did I ever say there’s anything wrong with Business Class? I don’t recall EVER saying there was anything wrong with Business Class. You missed the whole point here, Jay. We were talking about whether, or whether or not LH had PTV’s in their economy class cabin, which Monster just put the final stamp of approval on something I knew already. Thanks Monster.

and whats wrong with business class, sure as hell beats economy.
By: greekdude1 - 17th April 2003 at 00:35
Well, I certainly HOPE they have them in Intl business class! We were actually talking about economy.
By: Jay330 - 17th April 2003 at 00:03
I had PTV in LH business class on a 744 from SIN-FRA
By: greekdude1 - 16th April 2003 at 21:44
No problem. I was aware that BA did have them, but last time I flew on a LH 744, which was 4 years ago mind you, they didn’t have them. Therefore I wasn’t sure.
By: SOFTLAD - 16th April 2003 at 20:05
Yeah sorry.
By: greekdude1 - 16th April 2003 at 19:52
So you were talking about BA, then?
By: SOFTLAD - 16th April 2003 at 18:57
Sorry my mistake i didnt read properly.Sorry again.
By: greekdude1 - 15th April 2003 at 16:56
Softlad, why don’t you read your previous post. Are you talking about LH or BA having the PTV’s? Earlier you were saying BA had the PTV’s, now you’re saying Lufthansa. Or is it both?
By: SOFTLAD - 15th April 2003 at 06:09
Well mabye the one you flew on didnt have them but the a/c i came back on DID have them right through the cabin !

The seats LH’s 744’s are a lot nicer than in their short haul fleet. They are cloth, mind you, but comfortable nonetheless. And no, they don’t have PTV’s. If they are currently in the process of retrofitting, then that’s a different story. However, when I flew them, they didn’t.

They are certainly not real leather! They are covered in grey plastic sheets which slide on over the seats.
By the way, I do think that BA seats are far superior for short haul flights than long haul ones! Their A319’s, 757’s and 737’s have better leg room and comfier seats than their B744’s and B772’s! Very strange decision by BA. It’s as if…give passengers rubbish seats but give them a PTV and all is forgiven. Not by me!

-Complain for a conection…..they sent me a LH watch with excuses
-Ask about information of B747-400 wiring (after TW800)…..a pilot called me to explain me the point.
-My girlfriend was affraid of flying and I make it know……..at the departure lounge, she was called and driven to the cockpit, were she stayed for take off.
-Suggestion about menus…….they sent me a LH pencil with explanation.
For me they are a bit dull, but germanly efficient.
boy im gonna say im afraid to deatn of flyin…maybe they gimee the controls!:p
hmm ya i think i’ll wright to them with my queris.
thanx for the replies chaps.

I quite like LH, except for the grey plastic seats in economy, at least in their A319/A320’s which are the only types I’ve been on.
I can just imagine all those big lads in shorts, making the seats sticky with sweat on the flight before mine 😮
