They had the Super Mirage 4000 planned at that time.

it was in ‘Le Bourget’ … but in what year ??

friendly,
Etienne

My best guess would be June 1975. Back than 71-0291, TF-15A, JTF/MDD was there as well a USN F-14 Tomcat. Both F-15 and F-14 were in stiff competition for foreign buyers.

I can’t read the serial on your picture.

How about “An aircraft becomes Historic when the number in museums exceeds the number in service” ?

So that means we can discuss nothing after 1930?

Maybe, maybe we need a rule on that. If its older than Moggy, it’s allowable 😉

That F-15 71-0291 is about 40 years old, so i would say it qualifies as historic

Not sure if it rates as ‘Historic’ either

the “French” one…

…was NOt a scale model … (look details inside the cockpit !!)

& it was in the period of the mid-1970’s….;

McDonnell Douglas painted one their F-15’s with a French Air Force insignia for near week during their sales promotion in the mid-1970’s. However, from what I heard the French Air Force did have some interest in the F-15, but nothing went beyond that stage though.
