“better to have had Guy in London & Edwina in Germany”
Or both at the dole office, and Stephen Bungay, Steve Vizard and his mate doing it all.
have a look at my post on the parallel thread. Ray Holmes wasn’t even coming as of yesterday. They only got the engine this afternoon and didn’t know until very late that they could get it out without screwing up the water system. Some lack of polish was inevitable.
However, there was still room for improvement.

I found Edwina very distracting from the moment I saw her, with all that hair & the hard hat perched on top. Can’t help thinking they would have done better to have had Guy in London & Edwina in Germany.
But that said it was a great show, given that it was live, and I have to echo Snapper’s first post.

Well, she annoyed me SO much, I had to express myself twice. 😀

And as for the ****t in Germany – he was worse than her!

Say it again Steve…

Cracking idea, cracking concept, great to see both the veterans are present (I didn’t realise Ray Holmes was still with us), fabulous that the remains of both aircraft were located, but…
Edwina Silver has, in 90 minutes, become THE most irritating woman on television. What should have been a celebration of The Few’s achievements, was in grave danger of becoming a vehicle for her ego.
Thankfully, sixty four years after bringing down a Dornier 17 with his wing, Ray Holmes managed to shoot her down.
Edwina (flushed with success as the remains of the engine were lifted out of the ground) – “Ray, we’ve dreamed about this moment for years”
Ray (mischecious glint in his eye) – “Yes, and now I can just dream of you!”
90 years of age, a Battle of Britain veteran, but an incredibly modest man, and still possesive of a sense of fun and mischief. What a guy!
