Indeed so, sorry I missed off the Beverley serial – I blame old age!
By: WJ244 - 1st October 2015 at 21:18
The Beverley was almost certainly XB261 and the Gunbus which was also on the british register as G-ATVP was a regular at Biggin in those days. With hindsight it was an amazing feat to keep the Gunbus flying in those days with an original engine as I am sure it always flew to and from each show – no mean feat with a rotary back then. It now hangs in the Grahame White building at Hendon.

Around that time N6356T was a regular at Biggin Hill shows. I think it was 1968 when one of the Falcons parachute team landed in front of the Mustang and his parachute fell into the prop. Fortunately the pilot turned the engine off very quickly and the parachutist escaped unhurt.

WOW! What a wonderful variety! Formation aerobatics by the Lightnings at 15:54 would have been rather noisy!! Only given 4 minutes but fast and furious…

I assume the Zlin was flown by Neil Williams
Not necessarily, I recall Neville Browning attending several “Biggins” in G-ASIM……

What could you win with your ‘lucky number’ on the 1966 programme…
…probably something lame like a round-trip to Cyprus in a Lightning?
I think it was a circuit in a Skyways 748 or something similar.

I wonder which Mustang it was that closed the show.
I believe it was Charles Masefield’s.

Spot on Graham and it looked something like this:—- http://www.abpic.co.uk/popup.php?q=1037301 N6356T, was also there in 1967.

For 1968, would it not have been Peter Masefield’s? I think of this as being the only P-51 in the UK around this time. I recall seeing it at Sunderland, but I can’t recall the exact year. 1968 is certainly possible…

What a line up at the display ,and not even a Spitfire
Yes there was, at 15:15, and a Hurricane at 15:40 🙂
🙁
Likely to be the BBMF in there BoB film livery.

Nice souvenirs. I was at the Biggin Air Fairs 1967 to 1969, but not 1966. When I look back at my list of participants I marvel at the variety – from Nippers to Vulcans.

What we wouldn’t give for a line up like that today !! I still have one or two similar programmes.
Nostalgia isn’t what it used to be 🙁
😀 See ,the line up was so good i never noticed it 🙂

Blimey that brings the memories flooding back. My father, brother and I were Biggin regulars for those terrific shows. Thanks for sharing your attic landslide!! Anything else……?:)
